A US federal jury has accused a man of using a police communication line to threaten to kill President Donald Trump last month while visiting Utah in the west of the country.
The jury in Salt Lake City on Wednesday charged 33-year-old Travis Locke Dominguez with the death threat and other charges, the Justice Department said in a statement.
Dominguez, a resident of Salt Lake, who was arrested on Sunday in the nearby South Jordan area,
Threats by sending a message to a website to report to the local police, Reuters reported.
Dominguez wrote on December 4 that "I woke up and decided to go to kill the president," judicial documents said, adding that he expected death by the police.
Dominguez was also charged with a separate threat to the president on the same day while visiting Utah. In that threat, Dominguez Trump described his lack of support for equality between men and women as racist and anti-gay.
Dominguez, who was detained before a court hearing on Thursday, was not available for comment.
