The US authorities have rejected Argentine soccer legend Diego Armando Maradona's request for a visa to enter the United States after the local television station TeleSior broadcast an interview in which he insulted US President Donald Trump.
Local media in Argentina quoted Maradona's lawyer Matthias Morela as saying that the Argentinian's request for a US visa had been rejected, although he had met all the requirements, after he saye to Trump a "mere puppet" during the interview.
"Diego, if you allow, does not talk about the United States," Morla said when Maradona was told that he had refused his visa at the US Embassy in Argentina.
Maradona was excluded from the World Cup in 1994 after being convicted of doping.
The Argentine legend is seeking to travel to the United States to attend the trial of his ex-wife, Claudia Piafanii, who is being considered by a Miami court in March after buying some property as her single, even though she was married at the time.
